The Food Diary - Beetroot Halwa

Beetroot Halwa

Though not very popular like carrot halwa or sooji ka halwa but if one is looking for a healthy and nutritious recipe to satisfy his/her sweet tooth, then this one fits into the list.

It has a beautiful colour and looks very appealing. Can be made more nutritious by adding dry fruits into it. Here I've added fried cashews and flavoured it with cardamom powder.

Simple and easy to make,
Fine taste and awesome for health .😍💪

Detailed recipe given below:

1. First rinse, peel and grate beetroots according to the quantity you want to make.

2. Put the grated beetroots into a thick bottomed pan or kadai. Then add milk to it.

3. Mix and cook the grated beetroot and milk mixture on a low flame to medium flame.

4. Slowly the milk comes to boil and froth whilst cooking. Continue cooking and keep stirring often.

5. When almost 75%-80% of milk has reduced, add ghee and jaggery powder(I've preferred). You can also add sugar in place of jaggery powder. Stir and continue to simmer the halwa until done.

6. At the end flavour it with cardamom powder and add some fried cashews.

7. Keep stirring until all the milk has evaporated. Then serve the halwa hot or warm in a serving bowl.
